Welcome to Quill. By using our website or downloading our application, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms of Service. Please review them carefully.

By accessing or using Quill's website or services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our app or website.

2. Description of Service & Local-First Model

Quill is a dictation and transcription utility. All core features (dictation, voice transcribing) execute locally on your computer's Neural Engine. No voice audio recordings or transcripts are uploaded to our servers.

The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind.

3. License & Intellectual Property

Quill is provided under a standard non-exclusive license. Unless otherwise stated, we or our licensors own the intellectual property rights for all material on Quill. All intellectual property rights are reserved.

  • You must not redistribute, sell, or lease code compiled from Quill without permission.
  • You must not reverse engineer the application binaries.

4. Third-Party Integrations & Custom API Keys

Quill offers optional integration with third-party language processing tools (like OpenAI or Anthropic). If you choose to configure these integrations:

  • You must use your own developer API keys.
  • You are solely responsible for all usage costs incurred with those third-party providers.
  • You represent that your use of third-party keys complies with their respective terms of service.

5. Waitlist Registration

If you join the Quill waitlist, you agree to provide a valid email address and your name. We will use this information solely to notify you of major launch announcements and access details. You may opt out of these notifications at any time.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Quill, its developer, or affiliates be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use this software utility.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will indicate changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.
